Crafty Ideas with Bohemian Bazaar by Graphic 45

What a fab time we had last night with the Boss and 22000 others lol!!!  That man is truly amazing. He shared 3 1/2 hrs of non stop music with no support and no gimmicks.  At 60+ he is seriously impressive.  Am now totally converted having heard over 30 of his songs back to back.  Loved them all and the East Band too :-)

I think this is the first project I've put up on my blog using the new Bohemian Bazaar collection new out from Graphic 45 although behind the scenes all of us on the Design Team are beavering away on projects for the Graphic 45 stand at CHA with this collection and Steampunk Spells too.

Bohemian Bazaar - Graphic 45
I used one of the paper mache gift bags from Hobbycraft here in the UK as the base for this striking gift , base coated it with Turquoise Kaisercraft paint and then decorated it using one sheet of 12 x 12 paper, some May Arts lime green and blue ribbons, a chip board piece and cut apart from the collection. See pic below:

To make one yourself, remove the twine handles and paint your blank gift bag in your chosen paint colour and leave to dry thoroughly.  Measure the front and back sides and your paper 1/4" smaller around all edges. Ink the edges and put double sided tape around each edge on the reverse side of each piece. Then run a strip of double sided tape widthways along the front of each piece of paper and attach your ribbon.  The ribbon I used has a 1" flat section and a lovely frilly edge so I cut two 1" x 6" strips of paper contrasting side facing to fit in the middle of the ribbon.

Ink the edges of both strips, put double sided tape on the back of each and stick down over the ribbon matching up the edges of the paper.

Now cut out the cut apart. I used one from the 8 x 8 pad but the larger sized one from the 12 x 12 collection works just as well.  Tie some blue ribbon through the chip board tag.  Ink the edges of both, put some foam tape on the back of each and stick to one side of the gift bag.  See Pic below:

Cut two paper pieces to fit the sides of your gift bag.  My sides are slightly inverted so I trimmed off the triangular sections at the bottom of each piece and added a small strip of paper green patterned side up to match the front.  I stuck these in place with some tacky glue and then added the larger paper to finish off.

I threaded the raffia handles back in place and added a blue bow to hold them both together and then added a 4 and U from the Graphic 45 staples sticker sheet.

I love the bright colours in this collection, there are so many combinations to work with and three papers of each design so you can be extra creative with larger projects.

  2. Hi Patricia, the collection is really bright, and I thought the same as you when I first saw it but the papers can be worked in so many different ways that you can make something as bright or not lol!! as you want. The nice thing about this collection is there are three papers of each design. The Boss was totally amazing. He sang Born to Run which he's only sang that twice live at his concerts, but when he sang Dancin in the Dark every one went totally wild :-) Have a lovely Sunday and catch up again soon. Hugs C xx
