Day 1 of a fabulous Grand Crafting Weekend at Pink Tulip

 It's been weeks in the planning but today Sheila (left) and her team opened the doors for the first, but I'm sure not the last Grand Crafting Weekend and the shop was heaving.  Mark, Visible Image ran two classes on how to make the stunning card below with the new Revolution stamp set and across the way we made Botanical Tea themed gift caddies using my new kits. Hazel Eaton was demoing how to make more stunning cards using the Visible Image stamps too.

There's more crafty fun on tomorrow too.  Roy, Mr Candy Box Crafts will be teaching the Tarmac Technique, a Karen Clare (The Clock Lady) technique in his class from 0am - 3pm and Michelle Johnson will be sharing her hints and tips in store too.  There's one or two places left so, if you fancy coming along and joining in the fun send a Face Book message to Pink Tulip to book your place. I'm going to join the class too and learn this amazing technique.
After clearing up, packing the car I caught Sheila and the team chillaxing with a well earned cuppa and we had a quick chat about how Pink Tulip came about, and how they came to work in the shop. From left to right meet the team;
Sheila (left) Owner… always wanted to run a shop since she was small, and the social aspect of running a craft shop drew her to take over the business nearly 5 years ago
Sue:  Has been crafting all her life, visited the shop as a customer and now helps out in the shop once a week
Tracey: (centre) Also visited the shop as customer, attended some classes, joined the team about a year ago and now teaches her won regular classes in the shop every week
Kate:  After retiring from the Special Constabulary 11 years ago took up crafting as a hobby and regularly helps out in the shop
Angela: (right) Has spent many years sewing and wanting to change her hobby turned to crafting and now works in the shop. Angela also holds classes every week.

It was lovely to see everyone today, thanks girls for all you help and look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow, just got to pack my piny and industrial gloves and I'll be ready lol!!!  Look forward to sharing some pics with you. Enjoy your eve and catch up again soon.  :-)

  1. Hi Clare, please tell the ladies they look "mahvelous" in their beautiful pink tops!!! Pink Tulip is a very busy place from the sound of it!!! How fun and I have not heard of the tarmac technique yet!!! Tarmac to me is the runways and areas at airports, they are called the Tarmac!!! Will be interesting to find out what that is!!!
    Have fun!
    Love,
    Judy
