A lovely week off

Come Away with Me album
Morning, can it really be Friday again.  It doesn't seem like a week since I picked Annie up from the station and now she's back in Falmouth. We've have had a great time.  My week started in true topsy turvey style with a fun filled workshop on Sunday at The Stamp Attic while Annie and Andy (the Elf) headed over to join the family and celebrate my Aunt and Uncles 60h Wedding Anniversary.

Monday took us over to Stratford-upon-Avon for Annie and Andy's Birthday lunch by the river, with a little bit of sight seeing and shopping too.  The town was busy busy busy as always and looked really colourful.  A trip to the top of the new tower on the Theatre is still on the to do list.

I grabbed a few hours on Tuesday to finish the Album (above) for one of the workshops I'm running at the Birds in the Barn Summerfest this weekend and Wednesday we stayed local and visited our very own Kenilworth castle. It's about half a mile away from home and a place we've grown up around and visited hundreds of times.  I used to take the boys there when they were little, but neither of us had been inside for a few years. So I found our residents passes and off we went.

We wandered through the rooms now open in the Gatehouse, around the recently finished Elizabethan gardens and through the ruins of the Keep, Great Hall and Apartments built for Queen Elizabeth 1st when she visited the castle for the last time in 1575 and then had lunch outside the stables.  It's definitely worth a visit if you haven't been, along with Warwick Castle which is 4 miles down the road.

Well that's all for today. I'm off to pack my bags and head off down to Colchester for a weekend of workshops at the Birds in the Barn Summerfest.  Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and Sunday and will share pics with you all next week.  Have a lovely weekend, I hope the sun shines on us all and catch up again soon :-) C
