Apple Pie anyone .......oh and a Sale on Saturday :

We all had a great time on Saturday assembling pencil cases and making mini albums.  Lovely to catch up with you all again ladies.  There's a lot of techniques and work packed into this little project so I hope ladies you've managed to finish off the bits you didn't get to do in the class from your instructions.  There's a few pics below taken during the day.  Sarah, thanks for taking our group one for me.  (not a Wendy in sight!)  I thought I'd share a little box card I've made with you today. No vegetables in sight .......  they seem to be the most popular elements everyone's cutting out so I decided to be different and go for a cooking theme.  These are great cards to make and they really don't use too much paper either. Daisy's Pencil case and Album workshop Bernadette still smiling :-)  Sandra and her finished pencil case We're having a one day only sale on the website, so do head on over this Saturday 4th Apr

An Artisan Style Crafty Favourite...........

Morning, and Happy Friday to you.  Over the past few days Graphic 45 have been sharing some really interesting crafty info on their design team members along with favourite crafting styles. Today I'm really excited to be sharing mine.  It was really hard to chose a favourite but in the end I went with shadow boxes.  I  love bringing G45 papers to life and giving them a three dimensional look and feel. So after musing through the papers, choosing the elements I wanted to use, and deciding on a theme I altered one of my shadow boxes in Craftsmanship papers to give me a dark background to build up from.  The fussy cutting took a while, especially the small flowers but I always snip away while watching TV.  Inspired by the Pergola and the peacocks, I started at the back of the box, and worked forwards adding layers of detail.   If you'd like to make one yourself there's a full step by step tutorial on how to put the project together over on the Graphic 45 blog    (just c

Grow your own .....................

Brrrr!! it was a frosty frozen start to the day when I took Ols to work this morning but the clouds have cleared and the sun is out so things are looking promising for a really nice day.  It's that time of year when all of us fair weather gardeners get outside and start tidying and planting.  I thought I d' alter one of my This N' That boxes to keep my seeds, string and planter labels in but I think Harry had nabbed it.  Its full of golf balls lol!!  I've gone for green, yellow and red papers from the Home Sweet Home collection by Graphic 45 and love how all the papers work together.   Here's a few more pics  Have you been watching Poldark? I can't believe we're up to episode 3 and I haven't mentioned it.  I remember watching it with Mum back in the 70's and loved it then. I'm loving the remake and am now totally hooked on it second time around.  For those of you reading from outside of the UK the series is based on the novels by

Five a day minus 2 :-)

I had a bit if a crafty clear out yesterday when I came in from the garden, and with stamps and pens on the table and paper just in from the car I sat down, chilled and did a bit of colouring.  I haven't domne any for ages, am a bit rusty but really enjoyed myself.  I love these stamps, Cling 3 from the Home Sweet Home collection by Graphic 45.  Just perfect for making cards for garden lovers and cooks.  You get a seed packet with the set too, and each of the veg and phlox stamps can be interchanged in the centre.  Clever eh!!  It's amazing what you find when you have a sort out, and what you'd forgotten you've got too. My heads full of ideas again and the to do list has grown at least a foot lol!!!.  Anyway, must get off the PC and on with the things I mustn't forget to do today.  Enjoy your day and catch up again soon :-)  www.mycreativespirit.co .uk
