Morning, and Happy Friday to you. Over the past few days Graphic 45 have been sharing some really interesting crafty info on their design team members along with favourite crafting styles. Today I'm really excited to be sharing mine. It was really hard to chose a favourite but in the end I went with shadow boxes. I love bringing G45 papers to life and giving them a three dimensional look and feel. So after musing through the papers, choosing the elements I wanted to use, and deciding on a theme I altered one of my shadow boxes in Craftsmanship papers to give me a dark background to build up from. The fussy cutting took a while, especially the small flowers but I always snip away while watching TV. Inspired by the Pergola and the peacocks, I started at the back of the box, and worked forwards adding layers of detail.
If you'd like to make one yourself there's a full step by step tutorial on how to put the project together over on the Graphic 45 blog (just click the link :-)
Here's a few more pics of how it came together.
I like to look for ways to add shape to the papers and interesting detail that draws the eye through the scene, so I cut open the doors of the pergola and added a view, shaping the house and adding a piece of green patterns and solids to give a grassy effect
Keeping with the Artisan Style theme I"m off to Daisy's Jewels and Crafts tomorrow for the day. We re making my Pencil Case and mini album set in these lovely papers. Looking forward to seeing you all ladies :-)

Hi Clare, This shadow box is fabulous, a fantastic scene, and it certainly tells a 'story'. I am in awe with your 'fussy cutting', those flower stems are so fine, they are exquisite.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
