Introducing my new Exploding Sewing Box Tutorial

I'm really excited to be sharing a new project with you today.  With H being at home since May being creative has been a real stop start and almost non existent process but now I have all the time in the world to create new designs and projects to share with you.   I thought I'd start with something a little different to an album, although albums are in the pipeline so if you love my style hold on in there lol!!  This exploding box could be decorated in fabric as well as paper as I've done in the samples here.  The lid has a piped effect around the edges and a simple painted wooden knob adds a practical finishing touch to the lid.  There's a full PDF Tutoria l available from my website that includes the dimensions for cutting the chipboard pieces, a step by step cutting and assembly guide and a follow along video too.  If you prefer to buy the basic chipboard kit, they will be available from the website shortly too.  What a great gift idea  if you're loo

A great time had by all

Morning and a very happy Monday to you - the last in September for this year!!!  Can you believe it. Time is a flying by tooooooo quickly.  H has been away for a week and is having a ball.  He's taken to Uni life like a duck to water, which after not wanting to go last Saturday, is great to hear.  Love this pic of the H (middle) Oli and Sophie taken in his new room.  Definitely one for the scrapbook album :-)  It was a fun day at Daisy's Jewels and Crafts on Saturday.  Thanks for arranging the day Wendy, congrats to you and Geoff, huge thanks to Rachel for keeping us topped up with drinks all day and the scrummy wedding cake, and huge thanks ladies and gent for coming along and joining me for another fun day of crafting.  Loved all your projects:  We constructed and inked out Box It and Stamp Storage kits into shape and created little houses for those crazy birds. Here's a few pics from our day. Lovely pic of you all peeps :-)  I"ll be back at Da

Card of the week

Well todays the day we head off to Cheltenham, cars heaving to drop Harry off at the start of his new adventure.  Lets hope its not race day again.  We go sooooo stuck the last time we went Harry nearly missed his Uni interview.  My plan is to send him a card a week with a little something inside it as he's always saying he never gets any mail.  Card no 1 is going under his pillow when he's not looking ................. for him to find and open once he's settled in.   I always have fun when I get out the distress inks and loved making up this card. H loves cactus.  The image sits on a 6 x 4 card blank, the background was inked as one piece and then cut into three sections, raised on foam pads to give some dimension for the cactus or is that cactii !!!!  (Sarah will know :-)) to sit under.   Supply List  6 x 4 Card Blank Distress Inks: Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon and Barn Door  Blending tools for each  ink Stuck on You & Stitched Hillside Borders by Law

A great time in Scotland

Evening my crafty friends. what a great time I've had up in Bonnie Scotland.  My first stop was the Marriott, Edinburgh to host an open workshop with a group of loveliest ladies who'd travelled up from across the country. Here we all are snipping into those gorgeous new papers from the Cafe Parisian collection from Graphic 45   Thank you ladies for a great day.  Enjoy using your recipe boxes   On Sunday/Monday I joined the traders exhibiting at the this years Scottish Craft Trade Show.  Here's Polly checking out my range of kits on my first ever stand before the doors opened on Sunday morning.   All good things come to an end and after packing up and saying goodbye to everyone at the Marriott I headed north to Stirling for some sightseeing before the last of my classes in  Tillicoultry.   I got to be a tourist for a day and take the boat trip on the Falkirk Wheel and spent a fascinating few hours exploring  Stirling Castle   .  We had a scream at Wednesd

Edinburgh here I come

Evening my crafty friends, how are you?  Long time no typie typie from me lol!!!  It's been a right old topsy turvy week here.  After some time away with H we've been shopping for last minute things for him to fill up his new room at Uni and packing up boxes for us both to head off in different directions........ Him down south and me up north!   I've literally just finished the Recipe Box project for Saturdays class at the Edinburgh Trade Show. . Papers arrived here this morning but by the time I'd packed up the orders off the website, gone to the post office, the chemist, Tesco's, the doctors, then a trip back to them all to try and find my bank card that had mysteriously vanished somewhere between them all ( I didn't find it) it was gone 5pm before I sat down to take a good look at the papers and plan the project. They're from the Cafe Parisian collection by G45. Made me uber hungry while I was snipping them up - could have killed for a cake lol!!!

September Giveaway

A very happy Friday to you.  I had a fun day crafting with some of my kits yesterday and creating new videos for the website and You Tube channel.  I turned the little 'Make Lemonade' card from yesterdays' post into a framed picture using one of my Single Picture Frame kits so it can sit on a desk and raise a smile when things get tough :-) Maybe I should have one on mine lol!!! .......... no there really isn't any room here......... Here's the video on how it came together.   I also made a double frame altered in papers from the new St Nicholas collection by Graphic 45.  I love the traditional colours in this Christmas collection and chose two of the papers for my festive frame.   I got to make a video for this one too and thought the kits would make a great giveaway this month.  So we have two Double  Picture Frame Kits up for grabs.  All you have to do is leave a comment on this post before midnight on 30th September 2016 (BST).  As usual the w
