Graphic 45 Design Team 2012 Audition

At the start of 2011 I fell in love with the paper collections by Graphic 45.  Never did I think I'd be entering the Design Team Audition, but have decided to take the plunge and send in my entry.  Some of the projects below were inspired by very fond memories of time spent listening to stories of times gone by from my mum, grandparents and great grandma and of course some were inspired by my own memories too.................

Valentines Day - 14th February 2012
This was a paper mache heart shaped box that I altered into a Valentine chocolate box using a number of papers from different G45 collections.

Tropical Travelogue
With winter upon us who doesn't turn their thoughts to holidays in the sun.  Here's my get away kit all labelled up and ready to go lol.........  A very small set of suitcases, passport and tropical bird.......

and travelogue to journal in and pack full of photos

and a couple of cards too......

An ABC Primer
All mums have fond memories of their children's early years.  What better way to keep special photos to hand than in a vintage style school book.

and what better place to store it than on its own school room desk, with a calendar and lets learn books. Made for my craft room it was an up cycled project made from a white "Slice" storage unit that I picked up in the sales.

Steampunk Debutante
Inspired by fascinating stories told to me by my great grandma, who was born in 1874 and lived through the turn of the century and the industrial era, I had to make and album with papers from this collection and fill it with memories of her and info of her family heritage that I"ve started to trace.
This album was made for Sarah Jane 1984 - 1975

Once upon a Springtime
Here's an altered box I made inspired by the fairy boxes my sons girl friend used to make for the fairies at the bottom of her garden.... without the grass and pebbles lol

On the Boardwalk
Inspired by memories of my grandparents photos from days gone by and their sea side holidays in the 40's I made this teeny weny album 3.5 x 5.5", and up cycled a chest to store it in using papers from the on the boardwalk collection.

Christmas Emporium
A a box card made as a present using one of the Graphic 45 5 x 8 Kraftboard altered art boxes covered with red and cream papers and fussy cut images from the signature page of this collection.

and here's some pages from this years Chirstmas photo album I made for my for my holiday pics...........

Halloween in Wonderland
I love halloween, pumpkins, and all things spooky!!  It's me that gets excited about cutting out the pumpkins and trick or treaters lol!  Here's an altered cake stand I made from an up cycled Christmas cup cake stand, cardboard halloween chandelier and tp roll.  Completely quirky, an up cycled and completely storable table decoration that dismantles and stores flat, with the exception of the Tp decoration all ready to be used next year.

Magic of Oz
I had great fun making this Magic of Oz album below.  I used a book of the original story which I'd never read and got completely drawn into Dorothy's journey down the yellow brick road as I put the pages together........

The Communique
This was my second photo album inspired by the images of film, photography and the pen and of course the colours in this collection which are simply sumptuous.....

Curtain Call
The inspiration for this album came from memories of times spent with my mum when I was small watching old black and white movies from the 40's on cold Satruday afternoons  ........... I didn't know who the stars were, but Mum did................

July Giveaway and crafty Weekend in Milford Haven

Morning everyone, Happy Monday to you.  I"m home after a fabulous weekend with Cheryl, Jan and Chris, at their fabulous shop, In House Interiors in Milford Haven.  It was a full house on Friday for our Artisan Style workshop where we constructed, painted and altered pencil cases and albums.  Saturday was demo day and another full house.  Cheryl, Jan & Chris, thank you so much for hosting the event for all your hard work and your hospitality, you really did spoiled me :-)  It's been quite a while since I've travelled over the border to Wales so I was quit excited as I passed the Welcome to Wales sign and then Raglan Castle. For those of you unfamiliar with our isle, Wales is full of magnificent Castles, sandy beaches, picturesque scenery and a gorgeous coastline.  I had to have a quick pit stop to see Raglan Castle.
