Have fun with Altered Art

Secret Garden Altered 8 x 8 Match Book Box - Graphic 45

Happy Saturday everyone
Not the sunniest of days for May here in the UK but its not raining... yet!!!  Anyway as it's been a while since I shared a Graphic 45 project with you all I thought I'd take some pics of one of my demo pieces I made for the Create and Craft shows last weekend.  I went lilac using papers from the Secret Garden collection that matched perfectly with PaperArtsy's Pansy Fresco Finish chalk paint.

First I altered the box by cutting along one of the lower edges of the outer cover, and then sticking the inner box down to the base.  I angled the two right hand edges and added a magnet (hidden under the papers) to keep the box closed.  then I painted it all over with Pansy paint and when dry used one of Ali Reeves Brick Wall masks and Brushed Corduroy distress ink to highlight the uncovered sides and inside cover of the box.

The inside was covered with one piece of cream 12 x12 paper and the front decoration includes one of the new pockets and tags, hinges, stamped buttons, brads, staples ribbon, chipboard pieces, cut a parts and violet sprays cut out from the 12 x 12 paper.
Here are a few close up shots.

Have a great weekend :-) C

  7. I love what you've done with the altered box. I prefer the opening this way rather than the sliding matchbox style, it's more practical for storage. Also, thanks for the link to the magnet site. I had a link to an EU site from Sari Hanninen's YouTube channel, but had not found them in the UK until now. Thank you. Kim.

  8. Opps, can you change my last post or don't approve it. I got the link to the Magnets in the EU from Anne Rostad (xannero1), not Sari.

July Giveaway and crafty Weekend in Milford Haven

Morning everyone, Happy Monday to you.  I"m home after a fabulous weekend with Cheryl, Jan and Chris, at their fabulous shop, In House Interiors in Milford Haven.  It was a full house on Friday for our Artisan Style workshop where we constructed, painted and altered pencil cases and albums.  Saturday was demo day and another full house.  Cheryl, Jan & Chris, thank you so much for hosting the event for all your hard work and your hospitality, you really did spoiled me :-)  It's been quite a while since I've travelled over the border to Wales so I was quit excited as I passed the Welcome to Wales sign and then Raglan Castle. For those of you unfamiliar with our isle, Wales is full of magnificent Castles, sandy beaches, picturesque scenery and a gorgeous coastline.  I had to have a quick pit stop to see Raglan Castle. Saw my first Dragon too :-)   After a journey that took me across the middle of the country and th...
