Something wicked comes this way

Steampunk Spells Altered Book Cover
Here's my first altered project made from an MDF hinged book and the new Steampunk Spells papers by Graphic 45.  It's well travelled and recently went up to see Tom and Susan in Stockton on Tees, it was nearly booknapped by the lovely Mr Splodgeaway for the top shelf in Susans shop.

I used black acrylic pain and a glimmer mist on the base of the book, and Kaisercraft Teracotta paint on the door plate and key hole.  When it had dried  I dry brushed the pieces with black acrylic paint and then sealed them with Matte Medium.  I'm still thinking about making something to go inside :-) For more info on how I put it together just click the link below to the project video

Happy crafting everyone

  7. Clare please can you help, not sure what you mean by Matte Medium you were talking about the door knob after you had painted and dry brush it to protect it, I have Gel Matte Medium is that one of the same? I use mine to add the Acrilic paint to alter the texture You also mention Tag Album does that refer to a previous album you have made. You mentioned when you were talking about the inside.

    Thank You

July Giveaway and crafty Weekend in Milford Haven

Morning everyone, Happy Monday to you.  I"m home after a fabulous weekend with Cheryl, Jan and Chris, at their fabulous shop, In House Interiors in Milford Haven.  It was a full house on Friday for our Artisan Style workshop where we constructed, painted and altered pencil cases and albums.  Saturday was demo day and another full house.  Cheryl, Jan & Chris, thank you so much for hosting the event for all your hard work and your hospitality, you really did spoiled me :-)  It's been quite a while since I've travelled over the border to Wales so I was quit excited as I passed the Welcome to Wales sign and then Raglan Castle. For those of you unfamiliar with our isle, Wales is full of magnificent Castles, sandy beaches, picturesque scenery and a gorgeous coastline.  I had to have a quick pit stop to see Raglan Castle. Saw my first Dragon too :-)   After a journey that took me across the middle of the country and th...
