Chatwall Farm Layout French Country Style

Chatwall Farm, Lower Spode, Clun
I'm slowly scrap booking the old family photos I had of my Aunt a couple of years ago.  This is the farm in Clun, Shropshire where mum and her sisters moved to with my grandma during the 2nd world war to avoid the bombings in Birmingham.  They spent nearly seven years here, befriended a polish prisoner of war, Joseph who worked on the farm, and had great fun in the heavy snow of 1943 digging tunnels across the farmyard to let the pigs out.  The picture was taken in the 30's.  I used papers from the French Country collection to build up the page.

  8. That is such a beautiful layout, Clare. I'm sure your family has some very interesting stories! I had no idea the children and families were away quite that long in the country during all the WWII bombings.

  9. Morning Clare, Truly stunning !! the farmhouse piccie is really beautiful, I love Shropshire it is my favourite county and I would live there if I could haha. Your layout is truly stunning and the French Country collection perfectly complements the piccie, also the bit of history behind the piccie is fascinating, I love hearing of 'bygone times', and I commend you for scrapbooking your memories, I will start 'one day' haha.
    Have a lovely day.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

July Giveaway and crafty Weekend in Milford Haven

Morning everyone, Happy Monday to you.  I"m home after a fabulous weekend with Cheryl, Jan and Chris, at their fabulous shop, In House Interiors in Milford Haven.  It was a full house on Friday for our Artisan Style workshop where we constructed, painted and altered pencil cases and albums.  Saturday was demo day and another full house.  Cheryl, Jan & Chris, thank you so much for hosting the event for all your hard work and your hospitality, you really did spoiled me :-)  It's been quite a while since I've travelled over the border to Wales so I was quit excited as I passed the Welcome to Wales sign and then Raglan Castle. For those of you unfamiliar with our isle, Wales is full of magnificent Castles, sandy beaches, picturesque scenery and a gorgeous coastline.  I had to have a quick pit stop to see Raglan Castle. Saw my first Dragon too :-)   After a journey that took me across the middle of the country and th...
