Oriental Shadow Box

Bird Song Shadow Box - Candy Box Crafts & Graphic 45
I had a really productive day around the house yesterday and a visit from Mr Candy Box Craft himself too.  While we sat chatting, tea drinking and eating cake (very brittish) he spotted one of his boxes I've been working on at the back of my table. He loved it so I thought I'd share it with you all before I send it of to John at Jones & Co.  He has an interest in all things oriental having traded with the Far East for many years, so I thought I'd make him something with an oriental feel from two of the brands his company wholesales as a thank you for having me on the Jones stand at Stitches. Don't tell him you've seen it :-)

I used the 8" x 8" deep shadow box from Candy Box Crafts and 12 x 12 papers from Graphic 45's bird Song Collection, along with some tacky glue, black paint a Gina Designs chipboard pagoda and some black embossing powder.  After a lot of fussy cutting and quite a bit of dithering about over what should go where I finally finished it last night. Just got to find a pizza box to pack it in and head off to the Post Office this morn……………… I love bringing the papers to life in a decoupage sort of a way to make 3 dimensional pieces.

Here s a few pics of the detail from this one:

Shadow boxes are available over on our blogshop if you fancy making one yourself.  Well that's all from me today so thanks for calling by and catch up again soon :-)

July Giveaway and crafty Weekend in Milford Haven

Morning everyone, Happy Monday to you.  I"m home after a fabulous weekend with Cheryl, Jan and Chris, at their fabulous shop, In House Interiors in Milford Haven.  It was a full house on Friday for our Artisan Style workshop where we constructed, painted and altered pencil cases and albums.  Saturday was demo day and another full house.  Cheryl, Jan & Chris, thank you so much for hosting the event for all your hard work and your hospitality, you really did spoiled me :-)  It's been quite a while since I've travelled over the border to Wales so I was quit excited as I passed the Welcome to Wales sign and then Raglan Castle. For those of you unfamiliar with our isle, Wales is full of magnificent Castles, sandy beaches, picturesque scenery and a gorgeous coastline.  I had to have a quick pit stop to see Raglan Castle. Saw my first Dragon too :-)   After a journey that took me across the middle of the country and th...
