A day in the Cornish Countryside

Mullion Cove - Cornwall

No crafting today. We tootled into Truro to do a bit of shopping before heading down county to the tiny cove of Mullion with it's walled harbour and rugged shore line.  Then we headed west of Lizard Point to Cadgwith, one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Cornwall to visit friends who live in the house top right of the picture below.   We called to see Sally in the Crows nest too.  I love her lofty shop over the fishmongers, its full of an eclectic mix of hand made craft items for sale.  Be careful coming down the ladder if you call in.

To finish off our day of chillaxing Annies cooked up one of her Pea and Prawn Risotto specials for tea. She really is the best cook I know so I'm off to tuck in.
Enjoy your eve and catch up again soon :-)

  3. Glad you're having a super time in Cornwall Clare, it looks so pretty down there. We have always promised ourselves that we would go one day but it will have to be 'out of season' as I don't fancy sitting in traffic queues for hours on end; that is if the media is to be believed. i remember watching Poldark on tv years ago and loved the area then. (That shows my age doesn't it?) Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Love Pauline A x

    1. Hi Pauline, thanks for calling by. The queues to Cornwall are for real. I've spent many an hour on the M5 going nowhere and have taken 11hrs to do a journey that normally takes about 4 1/2 trip in the height of the summer. Funny you should mention Poldark. We were watching some old Episodes over the weekend. I used to watch it with Mum along with the Onidin Line, remember that one. We went past the Poldark Mine on Saturday, its current name came from the TV series. I've been down it a few times too a stark reminder of how tough life was being a tin miner. Had a great but short break and am now back home working on a new album and on line workshop. Hope you enjoyed the bank holiday too xx Catch up again soon
