A crafty day in Mullion

Botanical Tea Junque Journal
My journey to work yesterday was just the best.  An early drive through the cornish lanes, past HMS Culdrose and out towards the Lizard to Mullion.  Before heading into the craft shop I stood for a few minutes to take in the view, peace and quiet of being in the countryside.  All I could hear was birds singing and the occasional hum of a car along the lane.  So different from being in a town in the middle of the country.
After saying morning to the Lamas, I headed in to see Margaret and get set up for our day of crafting.  What a day it was too.

Our project was to turn 12 Botanical  Tea papers and 5 pieces of card into a pretty Junque Journal and have a load of fun along the way, and we definitely did. Here's a few pics.  Head of the class its Margaret………………..

I couldn't go without sharing a pic of the cakes and sandwiches we had bought round from the cafe.  They were absolutely scrummy as usual.

Thank you Margaret and Ladies for a great day and look forward to seeing you all again on September 12th. If you'd like to come along call Scrapbook Magic direct on 01326 240381.

It's a bit grey and overcast this morning so no sitting on the beach for us today. I think Annie's got her head set on buying a slow cooker so we're off to Truro for a shop.  Enjoy your Saturday too, thanks for calling by and look forward to catching up again soon :-)

  1. Good Morning Clare, I know what you mean about having to stop and gaze at our beautiful countryside. Here in South Yorkshire we too are fortunate in that our hill-top village is surrounded by stunning scenery and we are constantly amazed at its beauty over the various seasons. Judging from your photographs everyone appears to have had a fabulous time at your workshop and your afternoon tea certainly looks very inviting! I had meant to leave a comment on your latest posts but as it was my birthday on Thursday 1st (I can't believe I'm 66!) ) and was fortunate enough to have my sister/brother-in-law come to stay from "down South" I didn't get to leave a note. So.... belated congratulations to Angie on winning your giveaway (I am VERY jealous) and Clare, your latest projects are just FAB! Thanks for sharing this with us and I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend. Take care
    Margaret A.

    1. Hi Margaret, Happy belated @@ birthday to you. I hope you enjoying time with your visitors. I love Yorkshire too, a truly beautiful part of the world. I used to travel up to Bingley every three weeks when I worked for the B & B Building Society. The last time I was there I went to the Bronte's Vicarage in Howarth, somewhere I'd always wanted to visit. Sadly it was closed so it's still on my bucket list of places to visit along with Castle Howard. I'm just of to east a Prawn and Pea risotto Annie's cooked up so enjoy the rest of your weekend and catch up again soon xx

    1. Hi Judy, theres nothing like the Cornish Countryside. Rugged, peaceful and beautiful especially this time of the year. I wish I could have captured the sounds but didn't get to video it yesterday. Living in a town makes me appreciate how lovely life is by the sea. Annie found a slow cooker on the net so we headed off to Truro to shop, then back to Mullion to pick up my camera lead I'd left in the shop and then we headed over to Cadgwith to see friends. That ones worth looking up on the net. You'd love it. A tiny working fishing village in the prettiest of coves. I dropped off some of my By the Sea Altered items in the Arty shop there to sell. We're off walking tomorrow around the lakes and woodland at Roskillys Farm (maybe have one of their scrumlicious Ice creams too!!). Hope all's well with you, enjoy your saturday and hope you get out in the sunshine xx

  10. Hello ladies. Clare, can you tell me where you got the 'cardstock' for your botanical tea project? I live in Switzerland and don't have access to many supplies but I have seen these all over Pinterest and am wondering what they are. Would make my present journal project much easier! Thank you. Holly
