Hello and a very happy Bank Holiday everyone. I hope you're having a well earned break and enjoying the weather too. The saga of the laptop continues......I called in to pick it up today to be told it won't be back for another few days. So I've grabbed a few minutes of time on Oli's to share a quick post with you. I had no idea how much of my life and work relies on the apps on my lap top and how lost I would be without it.
I've used the time I can't create any workshops, videos or new projects to alter some boxes for a commission I had and have been stroking and reluctantly sniping into the papers form the Safari Adventure collection. Have you seen them.......... in true G45 style there are stunning. The prints are fabulous and the images awesome and there's a new 12 x 12 pad of patterns and solids to work with in this collection too.
I had a pile of off cuts left over so thought I'd put this little shadow box together and do a bit of fussy cutting. Haven't really done any of that for a while and really enjoyed snipping out the tiger, parrots and elephants.
The shadow frame is made from two pieces of 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" card. The first has the window cut out of it and the second piece of card forms the recessed frame in the middle. I added a stand to the back too so it's free standing.
Then I sorted through all the part cut papers and patched together the outer frame and then built up the centre using chipboard tiles to raise up the elements and add dimension. the tiger was the icing on the cake. He's one cool cat............... I heard myself humming songs from Jungle Book as I was adding the animals............. doo lally or what lol!!!!! Was fun though.
sharing a few more pics below:
It's a definite must have G45ers. If you haven't added this collection to your stash we have all the paper pads including the new 12 x 12 patterns and solids available on the website via the link below.

Good evening Clare, WOW! I have to say the papers look fab and your shadow box project is terrific. Thanks for sharing. I was only thinking to myself the other day how great it would be if all G45 Solids & Pattern pads came in 12x12 and not just 6x6. I've spent hours seeking out the Precious One sheets for your wonderful post bound album without success and ended up having to buy whole new sets. Judging from its scarcity I've come to the conclusion that everyone must be making your album (lol). Hope you enjoyed your weekend and that you and your computer will soon be reunited! Take care.
