Well todays the day we head off to Cheltenham, cars heaving to drop Harry off at the start of his new adventure. Lets hope its not race day again. We go sooooo stuck the last time we went Harry nearly missed his Uni interview. My plan is to send him a card a week with a little something inside it as he's always saying he never gets any mail. Card no 1 is going under his pillow when he's not looking ................. for him to find and open once he's settled in.
I always have fun when I get out the distress inks and loved making up this card. H loves cactus. The image sits on a 6 x 4 card blank, the background was inked as one piece and then cut into three sections, raised on foam pads to give some dimension for the cactus or is that cactii !!!! (Sarah will know :-)) to sit under.
Supply List
6 x 4 Card Blank
Distress Inks: Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon and Barn Door
Blending tools for each ink
Stuck on You & Stitched Hillside Borders by Lawn Fawn
Foam pads
Glossy Accents/Tacky Glue
Have a great day and catch up again soon :-) C
Hope Harry enjoys his first term - and I'm sure the cards will brighten his days!

Hi Margaret, the move went well. Oli and Sophie came along too and he's now happy in his new room. We left him to head off to a Freshers barbecue last night. He was quite excited which was great. It all seems quiet here this morning lol!!! My plan for today is to spring clean his room here now I can get in it ............... Hope your back is holding up and you're enjoying your weekend xx

ReplyDeleteHi Elaine, thanks for calling by. Its a little quiet here this morning. We got through yesterday without any tears and H seemed quite happy to go off and meet the other students which was great. He spoke to his brother last night and was amazed that his other flat mates all went to bed at 8.30!!!! He headed off out! Hope alls well with you and enjoy the rest of your weekend. xx :-) C
DeleteAw so sweet. You are the best mum a guy could have. This cute little card will sure set the tone to have the best time ever on his new adventure. Thanks for sharing it with all of us! Hugs from across the pond. Ruth Ann xoxox
ReplyDeleteHi Ruth Ann. He's all installed and ready for the adventure to begin. He loved his room and met his other flat mates as everyone was piling stuff in. I think there are six on his floor. Im sure he'll call today at some point. We left him heading off to a barbecue and managed to get through the day without any tears lol!! The card went down well too. Hope all's well on your side of the pond, huge huglets xxx :-) C
DeleteWhat a great idea, I'm sure it will have cheered him up. Love the colours. Must get together soon.
ReplyDeleteHello there my lovely friend how are you :-) Surprisingly after a nervous start early yesterday all went well, no tears and we left H quite happy to head off to a barbecue at about 6. Was a nightmare unloading - no space and way to many cars full of boxes and bags to unpack. They're still building half of the halls on his campus - great for student handovers and working in their rooms! Loving the new grandbaby - congrats to you all. Will call you later to arrange our get together. xxx
DeleteVery cute card Clare and I know Harry loved it!!! Glad all went well oh and just for the record it is Cacti since there is more than one!!!!!! I just got home a bit ago it's midnight here. Second day of scrapbooking retreat!!!! I have decorated a wooden wine box with paint and papers from Ladies Diary Collection, have made a photo album (need to work on decorating the pages tomorrow) and a diary to put inside. I have one of my silly flowers in peach that I made and doilies adorning the top of it. I will take photos and post on FB for you tomorrow!! Need to get to bed to rest, again love the little "Cacti" or Cactus card, so cute!!
ReplyDeleteLove,

Not silly flowers, silk flowers, lol
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, great to hear you had a fun day. I know you meant silk flowers lol!!! Love how you make those. Enjoy day 2 of your retreat and look forward to seeing your pics when you upload them :-) C x
DeleteHi Clare, What a lovely idea to put this card under H's pillow for him to find when he's on his own. It must be a very 'trying' time for you when your 'baby' goes out into the world on his own. He will have a fabulous time at Uni, and will love receiving the cards that you will lovingly create for him.
