Hand Made Journals

Fabric Covered Journals by Clare Charvill
Evening my crafty friends, it's gawn right chilly here and just when I'm heading down to Cornwall for a few days with my little sis and a class on Sunday the weatherman has forecast snow.  I've taken Annie's advice packed Rug, shovel, old carpet, large bottle of water, something to eat, sleeping bag a torch etc etc ............ and with all the boxes of kits and my luggage there's no room left in the car for me lol!  OJ ing ........!
I'm really looking forward to Sundays class.  We're making fabric painted, hand stitched journals similar to the ones above that I made last year.  Don't forget to bring your aprons ladies, it could get messy :-)
Here's a few more pics:
The feature images on both books are from stamp plates by PaperArtsy, and hand painted on tissue paper.

OMG the lovely man on the radio has just announced it's 7pm- where's the day gone.  I haven't finished working yet so had best get of and get a move on.  Have a lovely evening and thanks for calling by.  I'll share some pic from our class with you shortly.

  6. In the Great North West region of the USA, snow advisories tell us to also include matches and a candle in our road emergency kits. The heat from a single candle flame can heat the inside of a car to prevent freezing. Hope you won't need to use your snow and cold supplies! Enjoy the trip.

    1. Hi Martie, thanks for calling by. thats great advice, I've passed your advice onto Annie too. You would never think a single candle could do that. The snow we have here is something and nothing compared to what you have where you are but never the less it's deep enough in places to cause serious problems. No snow here by the sea :-) Enjoy you're week :-)

  7. Hi Clare, first of all Happy New Year to you and all your followers. I haven't been around for a while as I've been bedridden since Boxing Day due to ongoing problems with my immune system. Unfortunately my body also carries the shingles virus and this time around it's been pretty bad. Fortunately I have been able to keep up with your blog thanks to technology and my wonderful tablet and I've loved all your latest projects. Do hope your journey was uneventful and that today's class is going/went well. Take care.

    1. Morning Margaret, Happy New year to you too. I'm so sorry to hear you've been unwell again. I know the pain can be so awfully debilitating from that virus. Sending you crafty hugs from a damp, dull and chilly Cornwall. Take care, enjoy browsing on your tablet and hope you're feeling a little better soon :-) Cxx

July Giveaway and crafty Weekend in Milford Haven

Morning everyone, Happy Monday to you.  I"m home after a fabulous weekend with Cheryl, Jan and Chris, at their fabulous shop, In House Interiors in Milford Haven.  It was a full house on Friday for our Artisan Style workshop where we constructed, painted and altered pencil cases and albums.  Saturday was demo day and another full house.  Cheryl, Jan & Chris, thank you so much for hosting the event for all your hard work and your hospitality, you really did spoiled me :-)  It's been quite a while since I've travelled over the border to Wales so I was quit excited as I passed the Welcome to Wales sign and then Raglan Castle. For those of you unfamiliar with our isle, Wales is full of magnificent Castles, sandy beaches, picturesque scenery and a gorgeous coastline.  I had to have a quick pit stop to see Raglan Castle. Saw my first Dragon too :-)   After a journey that took me across the middle of the country and th...
