Morning everyone, I'm really excited to be sharing my large Nature Sketchbook album over on the Graphic 45 blog today along with Pam who shares her fun nature themed Bird Box.
Nature Sketchbook online workshop
It's quite a detailed album with a full on line workshop (link above) if you'd like to make it yourself. While I was flicking through the pages I thought it would be fun to go back to basics and share some easy ways to create albums with you this week.
Albums don't have to be complicated to look gorgeous and sometimes it's refreshing to simplify things down, create simple structures and then let the papers you decorate them in shine out from the pages.

Over Christmas Annie, my sister asked if we could make an album for a friend of hers to give to her granddaughter, for all the postcards she she sends her from her travels. Of course I said, so I had a rummage through all my old paper collections, gathered up a pile of Mother Goose papers and embellishments (we thought these would be perfect), put them all in the car with a supply of chipboard and black card and while we were together we had a fun day creating the album. Annie was the layout designer and I was the sticker together. What a great team we were. Amazingly it took us 11 hours to create the finished album. Here's how it came out..........
Mary Had A Little Lamb........
Humpty Dumpty ...........
Little Miss Muffet..........
Little Boy Blue............
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.................
Mary Mary quite contrary...................
Rock a bye Baby......................
Hey Diddle Diddle........

Rock a bye Baby......................
Mother Goose........was the title of the compilation of Nursery Rhymes ......... we didn't know that
Isobelle loved it too.
The pages are 6"deep x 8" wide and work perfectly with the size of the large picture cut outs from the papers which made instant pockets. The horizontal pocket pages were created as one piece making it a quick album base to construct. This is a great album to make if you're new to crafting as all the pages are flat - designed to hold postcards (or photos straight into the pockets. You could even make it with your young children/grandchildren if they love to get creative. Here's the supply list and what to cut out for the basic album and a video on how to put the basic album together.
