Hello my lovely crafty friends. You'll probably know I've been crafting with Graphic 45 papers since I started my You Tube Channel back in Jan 2011, and am just as much an addict now as I was back then - maybe more lol!!! Over the years I've designed and shared over 1500 Graphic 45 projects though my YT channel, blog, Craft TV and workshops and must have cut up thousands of those gorgeous papers we really only like to stroke and stash. Sharing creativity and inspiring others to be creative is a very special gift that I get a huge amount of pleasure and reward from, and to have been invited to be the face of Graphic 45 here in the UK again for the fourth year is really the icing on the cake. Thank you Diane, Charee and Amie - I'm really looking forward to sharing more of my inspiration and Graphic 45 products with lovely crafters over the coming year. I'd also like to thank everyone who follows me here on the blog and on You Tube. I really value your support, interest and comments.
Today is my official introduction for 2017 over on the Graphic 45 bloghttps://g45papers.com/Graphic%2045%20Blog?journal_blog_post_id=48. Whop Whop! I'm so excited. Do head over to their blog and take a look at all the inspiration they share too.
We get asked to design a project for our intro's, and with the gorgeous Master Detective 12 x 12 Paper Pad in front of me I was totally inspired by the banner on the front cover to design my latest project - a vintage style Compendium of Games Box. We had one in the house when I was little as did my Aunts and Grandies. I've always played board games with the boys and now they both have a Games Box made by mum as an heirloom to treasure, and use with their own families in years to come. And here it is:
Altered in the signature banner from the cover of the 12 x 12 paper pad, and a couple of sheets of 'We of Lies', the box has two clasps that hold all the goodies safely inside.
The counters fit into the little boxes along the edges of the base and the top ones are held in by magnets so they don't fall out as lid comes down. The letters on the boxes were die cut from black fun foam and highlighted with glossy accents. Little ribbon loops help to get them out of their slots.
and last but not least the Backgammon board. The larger two boards have been joined using my 'Signature' Assembly system - Black Construction Tape.
The base of the box has a great space for card and dice games too. I love the paper
I thought you might like to see the whole thing in real life so here's the video:
As you can imagine I had a ball designing and making this project - all worked out around a 12 x 12 paper pad, and, have to say I'm over the moon with how it came out. If you'd like to make the Compendium of Games Box too, the kit, which includes full video driven instructions is available to pre-order now from my website. Shipping from 20th July. Here's the link:

Another thought hit me Clare, lol, when you were describing the games you mentioned "Naughts" & "Crosses" and I thought hmmm wonder what kind of game that is. When I watched your video and you pulled it out to show I laughed to myself, it is a game that over here we refer to it as Tic Tac Toe, why I have no idea but that is what we in the states call it!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood evening Clare. I just wanted to add my WOW! to the pile. Such a fabulous project and one which I think I may very well have a go at, at some point in the future. I was so pleased to read that once again you have been chosen to be the UK face of Graphic 45. Many, many congratulations. So well deserved. I too look forward to your continued inspiration. Take care..

Wow! This just amazing Clare & you
ReplyDeleteare fantastic with all your detail. I have been worried about doing a two day workshop at a hotel & needing more equipment than I can fit in my suitcase but maybe I wouldn't need much. I could also bring this project home without too much trouble. Clare I loved the video & at the very least will be ordering a kit. Thank you for your inspiration. Love Bev.
A few clicks & hopefully class & accommodation all booked. I 'm so looking forward to another couple of days striving to keep up with your great tuition Clare. See you on the 4 th nov. Bev.
ReplyDeleteAnother Wow ! coming your way Clare , huge congratulations and so well deserved , your work is a work of art .
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing all you do for us.

I sent you an email, but I'm also going to comment since I don't know which you will receive 1st. I was finally able to start my games box today, but when I opened the MDF lot I am missing the 4 pieces that make the outside of the box....2 long and 2 short ones. I was able to put the bottom side together and have the long inside dividers, but I need the other for to finish the lid. Is there anyway I could get those missing 4 pieces as soon as possible? I have started working on the the game boards as I wait to hear from you. Thank you
