Christmas Countdown 2018 - Day 11

Hi everyone
We've got a fabulously festive kit launching today. Just perfect for you to create a stunning 3D Christmas themed piece of home decor.
The kit contains, one 3D Christmas tree and stand (H:12" W: 11"), one bauble, one 50ml gold metallic paint and one A4 Christmas Robin rice paper.
I'm sure you can think of oodles of ways to decorate the tree and bauble.  Here's how our sample came together:

Step 1 - paint both sides of the tree and stand with gold paint.  Leave to dry.

Step 2 -choose a stencil and use texture paste to add raised detail to the tree.  Heat set or leave to air dry.

Step 3 - paint over the texture paste with gold paint.  Leave to dry.

Step 4 - working on one side at a time cover the star with glossy accents and then cover with glitter.  Leave to dry before repeating on the other side of the star.

Step 5 - paint a couple of layers of white acrylic paint inside the back half of the bauble.  Leave to dry completely.   Cut a holly sprig from the rice paper and stick top left in the back of the bauble.  Use glossy accents to stick faux snow the the lower section.

Step 6 - Cut a holly leaf and robin out of the rice paper.  Stick to the front of the centre section of the bauble.  Add red dots of Perfect Pearls/Stickles for berries, dots of glossy accents sprinkled with glitter around the top of the robin and a little faux snow by his feet.  Finish off with a Perfect Pearl/Stickles snail trail around the edge. Leave to dry.

Step 7 - Cut a few more holly leaves and berries from the rice paper and stick inside the lower section of the bauble front.  Leave to dry.

Step 8 - Cover the back of the bauble with the lighter area of the rice paper, easing the edges down around the curve of the bauble.  Leave to dry.

Step 9 - assemble the bauble, thread a ribbon through the top and pipe a decorative edge over the joint to seal it.  Hang up and leave to dry.  You could stick a narrow ribbon around the edge as an alternative.

Hand the bauble from the hook on the Christmas Tree, stand back and admire your work :-)

July Giveaway and crafty Weekend in Milford Haven

Morning everyone, Happy Monday to you.  I"m home after a fabulous weekend with Cheryl, Jan and Chris, at their fabulous shop, In House Interiors in Milford Haven.  It was a full house on Friday for our Artisan Style workshop where we constructed, painted and altered pencil cases and albums.  Saturday was demo day and another full house.  Cheryl, Jan & Chris, thank you so much for hosting the event for all your hard work and your hospitality, you really did spoiled me :-)  It's been quite a while since I've travelled over the border to Wales so I was quit excited as I passed the Welcome to Wales sign and then Raglan Castle. For those of you unfamiliar with our isle, Wales is full of magnificent Castles, sandy beaches, picturesque scenery and a gorgeous coastline.  I had to have a quick pit stop to see Raglan Castle. Saw my first Dragon too :-)   After a journey that took me across the middle of the country and th...
