Some spooky samples .........

Whop Whop its Saturday.  I'm home after a lovely time away and have started a major sort out of the house. Or maybe a late spring clean lol!!  Anyway I came across these samples made for one of my C & C shows and thought I"d share them with you.  I love all things Halloween and these cards and tag were made from the Rare Oddities collection.  Some of the  papers from that collection will definitely go with the newly re released Halloween in Wonderland papers too as they are both from the Darks colour palette.  Thought I might make a little something that pulls them both together so watch this space .............  I cut the centre out of one of the frames from a small cut apart and added a raised back to give the tag some dimension and the appearance that the bottles were in a cabinet  We all make these pop up cards but the fun is adding different elements to the carte bands .... G45 give us loads to chose from in their collections  For the tall card I cut an

One Card, two styles

morning everyone, it's been a lovely week down here in the Cornwall.  Changeable weather but beautiful blue skies in between the showers.  Sadly not quite warm enough to go dipping in the sea though. (well not for me anyway).  Thought I'd share a couple of views across the mouth of the River Fal with you.  A Navy ship had just arrived for renovation in the docks.  It looks so small from the hill but was actually mahusive.   My card today was one we made back in January.  We took JOFY Stamps, chose one style and used two distress inks, Worn Lipstick and Evergreen Boughs to create two different looks by adding a distressed and water blown background to the one on the left. Simple but effective cards. Hope you like:-)   There's still a few days left to leave a comment on this months giveaway post.  Two winners will receive the digital PDF project sheet for my Communique Album, below.  If you haven't left a comment and would like to be in with a chance to

WHOP WHOP Squeal a new G45 Design Team and new collections are announced

Huge congrats to the new Graphic 45 2016 design team members.  It's no mean feat getting onto this prestigious design team, and with hundreds of entrants applying every year it must be such a hard decision to select just a few.  Commiserations to all who didn t make the team too. I'm sending my own huge  thanks to Diane, Charee and Aimee at Graphic 45 for my invitation to continue to represent them, and their truly unique paper collections and staples here in the UK as their Ambassador.   It's going to be another fun filled year of creative design and workshops. Look what's coming everyone.......a much asked for Safari Adventure collection....... can't wait to see this one and looking at the colours am sure the papers will work with those from the Tropical Travelogue collection if you have some left......... (I do lol)    Also coming our way is  the re-release of the incredibly sought after Halloween in Wonderland collection.   I was only asked the other da

How many Shakespeare quotes were there........... that is the question!

Evening everyone, I hope you've had a great day.  Huge congrats to my lovely friend Karen for completing the London Marathon in a great time.  If you called by yesterday you'll know we had a bit of a Shakespeare theme running through the post with a little challenge to count the number of Shakespeare plays mentioned.  Thank you to everyone who played along, counted up and left a comment.   It's time to reveal all...................... Bit of a sneaky question really there were eight references in all and two plays were mentioned twice so the answer to the question 'How many Shakespeare plays are mentioned.....' was six.  Here they are: The Merry Wives of Mullion (Windsor) - Play Title  Margaret, Margaret, where for art thou Margaret  -   Juliet in Romeo and Juliet Much a do about Nothing -  Play Title  Double Double toil and trouble - the Witches in Macbeth  What's in a name that which we call a Rose by any other would smell so sweet - Juliet from Rom

Our last Workshop At Mullion Meadows

As I'm away from home and not able to join the crowds down the road in Stratford Upon Avon to  celebrate Shakespeare's birthday and the 400th Anniversary of his death this fine day I thought I'd add a sprinkling of quotes from the  Bards works to  my post ............ can you spot how many Shakespeare play's are mentioned, some very loosely below.  If you can, leave a comment. A small token will be awaiting those who guess correctly. I joined the Merry Wives of Mullion for a fabulously crafty day yesterday.    'Margaret Margaret, where for art though Margaret' Our project for the day was to construct and alter the event organiser kits and have them finished ready for class 2 of the the project in a couple of months.  After much a do about nothing we got started and  after a  lot of double double toil and trouble our boxes were all built and painted. What's in a name that which we call a Rose by any other name would smell as sweet

Beautiful Butterfly.......

Morning everyone, hope you're weeks going well.  I'm packing up and heading down to Cornwall today to stay with my sis for a few days and to run a crafty workshop tomorrow at Scrapbook Magic, Million.  The sea is definitely calling and I can't wait to get there .............  it's always a hit and miss journey and can take anything from 4 1/2 hours to 9 (the longest one ever) so am hoping the M5 and A30 are kind to me lol!  I was having a tidy up this week and found this gorgeous butterfly that came in my  Mothers Day flowers from Oliver.  To beautiful to throw away I decided to put it on a card.  I'd seen a great video by Sara Naumann on this card idea, so followed along, using my own choice of colours and ta da my card was made.  Here's her video if you fancy following along too.  Fun isn't it.  Well that's all from me for now.   Have a great rest of your day, thanks for calling by and look forward to sharing some pics from our workshop wi

izzy wizzy I got busy.......................

After a wonderful trip up north I thought I'd better get on with the project for this Fridays workshop with Margaret and her Cornish maids at Scrapbook Magic Mullion, Cornwall.   It's the last workshop at Mullion Meadows before Margaret moves premises so we're going out with a bang!!  She'll be opening the shop again, running workshops and serving cakes and coffee from her new location in Mullion village in a few weeks.  Much as I'd liked to have had a lie in yesterday after my travels Harry needed a lift to work at 8am, so off we went, me wearing that 'just got out of bed' look and hoping not to see anyone I knew.  Luckily I didn't lol!!!  I've used the Voyage Beneath the Sea collection by Graphic 45 this time. I love the sea/ steampunk  twist that runs through the collection.  It's a perfect choice for crafting by the sea too:-)   I like to browse through the papers before starting a project and chose the images I want to feature so I

A crafty day in Skelton, North Yorkshire

Afternoon everyone,  what a gorgeous day it's been here.  It wasn't quite so nice on Friday night when I headed up the M1 to North Yorkshire and the north east coast of England.  I hate driving in torrential rain these days and get the heebie-geebies trying to get past lorries when all you can see is spray but I made it and arrived just after 11pm. It was freezing cold too.  I headed off to Skelton yesterday to meet up with Julie at her amazing craft workshop. What a great day we had.  Julie thanks so much for your fabulous hospitality and ladies thank you for coming along for the day.   It was blowing a gale outside but we were cosy warm as we crafted our pocket albums into shape. I'd remodelled the one featured on the G45 blog a couple of weeks to work with 8 x 8 and 6 x 6 papers.  Here's some pics from our day; Loved our day together everyone and am looking forward to returning for our Graphic 45 weekend workshop on 26th/27th November  We'
