A Jones Crafts DT Project in true vintage style

hellllooo there, I hope you're feeling fine and dandy this morning.  I'm skidding in at the last minute with my Jones Crafts design team project this month.  If you're a real G45 fan I'm sure you'll have seen this recently released and truly vintage Times Nouveau Deluxe Collectors Edition.  It takes you back to the roaring twenties, with revamped papers, new chipboard tags and sticker selection all in one pack.  Thanks Darren for the kit and of course Sandra for posting it out :-)   My project is a notelet box with three cards and matching envelopes.  I used a red green and black theme and was spoilt for choice with all the fabulous papers to chose from.  The box is made from card and has magnetic closures to hold the lid firmly closed.  The cards are quite simple in their design so they can be used for any occasion.  Hope you like :-)  and here's what comes in this Deluxe Collectors Edition.  These papers will also work well with other G45 papas y

Just home........

Evening everyone. I'm just home from an amazingly crafty weekend at SirStampalot , Peterborough and thought I'd write a quick post before I sit down and glue myself to the telly for an hour of Downton Abbey, the first of the new series.  Thank you to everyone who came along to the demo day yesterday, it was great to see you al and hope you went away inspired to cut into all the papers you bought, after stroking and smelling them of course. Today was workshop day.  We started off in true Costa Coffee style, thanks Donna for picking up the orders.  Did Janice and Andy share one?  And then we stuck, painted and snipped our projects into shape around some shopping breaks lol!  Here's a few pics of the little cabinets coming to life.   Huge thanks Janice and Andy for their warm welcome and hospitality over the weekend.  Look forward to being with you again on 2nd November and 20th December for more G45 craftiness :)  Its creeping towards 9pm he

Its Raining Cats and Dogs ......

Helllooooo, we're home off our hols, my did that do quick,  and ready to start  a fantastic run of workshops over the next two months around the country and a few other new ventures too which will be exciting. I'm off down to SirStampalot today for a demo day in true G45 style .  I'll be using the latest collections to make some stunning altered art pieces and then tomorrow we have a full day workshop making the five gorgeous Mini Albums and altering the cabinet they go in Cats and Dogs style.   I love these papers  in the dark signature palette G45 are so famous for.  Although I'm not the greatest of dog lovers I do like cats and without realising had picked out all the cat elements for some cards I made recently.  If you'd like come along, join us and make the project, the workshop is being repeated in November.  Call Janice direct at the shop for more info. Link above.  Well off to shake a tail feather, get in the car and hit Peterborough avoiding the Cat

A Whimsical Bird Cage without a bird.......

morning.......  I thought I'd share my altered Bird Cage with you.  It was one of the Come Away with Me samples off the G45 shows on C & C TV.  I've had the template for quite a while and not used it, maybe I was waiting for the right project to come along, although there's no bird in this cage.  The template is from the House of Zandra , and to give the finished piece more strength I stuck the paper to card stock before cutting out the pieces. and then fussy cut out the images for the inside from 12 x 12 papers. You do need a steady hand, a sharp knife, a craft mat and some patience for this one if you're thinking of making it. The video below gives a better view of the whole project.   On my way back from Peterborough I called in on Isobel at Scotch Lodge Farm and she's now got the cage in her craft shop.  Well thats all from me today, off to buy a gorgeous coat I saw yesterday If its still in the shop.  Have a great day to, thanks for call

Keep off the grass ..............

Its all happenin' down here in Brixham, boats in, fish everywhere and the seagulls are having a ball.  Shame they can't do it quietly lol!!!  I'd forgotten how fascinating it is being by the water.  Our little cottage had a balcony that looks out over the harbour, Marina and Fish Market.  Amazing views.  Yesterday we walked out to one of the last seawater swimming pools in the country. It closed at the end of the season last week but what an amazing place.   While we've been uploading our holiday pics I found this file folder I'd made a few weeks ago.  I'd made the dimensional plaque of flowers and decided to frame it under acetate on the front of the folder to protect it.  All the flowers are stamped with JOFY stamps and coloured using distress inks and water.  I love the soft effects you get using this technique.  Just got to finish the dividers for the inside .........!  I'm loving all these relaxing mornings, no early morning taxi runs

Look who bumped into us ...............!

I had to share these gorgeous guys with you.  We met them yesterday at the local Festival in Brixham.  They were really loud, very chatty and really photogenic :-)   Loved the arts and crafts at the show to.  Here's one or two pics taken as we wondered about.    This display of fish caught around our shores caught our eye, and we stopped for a while to talk about some of the fish on display.  The blue shark was caught in Newlyn waters.    Fancy a kiss xxx  There was a huge crowd around the guys from the Inshore Fisheries Conservation Association as they shared some fascinating facts about crabs and lobsters.    We're going to have a mooch aboard the Golden Hinde tomorrow.  one of a number of  replicas of the ship Sir Francis Drake sailed around the world in back in 1577-80.  This one's moored in Brixham harbour just around the corner from our cottage, and maybe take in the Agatha Christie experience at Greenway House.   Enjoy your day and catch u
