An Early Easter Card - IndigoBlu

Easter Card - IndigoBlu

To make one yourself, take two pieces of white perfect stamping card, one measuring 4 1/2 x 5 3/4 and the other 5 7/8 x 5 7/8.  Shade the edges of the larger card with Scattered Straw Distress Ink and the smaller one with violet shade pan pastel.
Then mount the smaller purple shaded card centrally over the yellow one and stick down.
Using Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and white smooth card stamp out one Easter Egg image and four small and two large flowers from the Live Love Laugh stamp plate.  Then with Black Soot Distress Ink stamp out the Happy Easter sentiment onto a separate piece white card.  Trim down and ink the edges with brushed corduroy distress ink or purple shade pan pastel.  Cut a mount out of white card for the Happy Easter sentiment to sit on and colour with Scattered Straw distress ink.
Cut out each of the flowers.  Take two small and one large flower cut along the petal lines  to about 1/4 from the centre.  Shade your flowers with scattered straw ink varying the pressure you use to get different degrees of shading on the petals.  Working  with the flowers that have cut petals, turn each one over and use a ball tool or the rounded end of a paint brush to shape the petals. turn over and press the ball tool into the centre of the flowers to lift the petals.  Ink all flower edges with Vintage Photo distress ink to get rid of the white cut edges.

Cut out your easter egg, lightly ink the edges with vintage photo distress ink, and then position and stick down to your purple card (see below).

Mount the yellow card piece on foam tape and position across the centre of your Easter Egg. Stick down.  Add the Happy Easter sentiment over the top. Now take two small and one large flat flower, put a little tacky glue on the back of each, position and stick to your card around the bottom of the Easter egg.

Take your curled flowers and off set them over the flat ones. Stick down with a little tacky glue.

To finish off the front of your card, stamp out the large butterfly from the Live Love Laugh stamp plate, cut out, ink the cut edges, put a little tacky glue on the body of the butterfly and stick to your card. Now add the completed card front to a 6 x 6 kraft card blank.

For the inside of your card cut a square of smooth white card 5 3/4 x 5 3/4.  Ink the edges with scattered straw distress ink.  Take the border stamp from the Live Love Laugh stamp plate, and using brushed corduroy distress ink stamp the image onto white card.  Trim this border strip down close to the top and bottom edges of the image and trim to 5 3/4 long.  Then stick it to the large inked matte.  Add a flower to finish.  Stick the completed card inside to the kraft card blank.
