An Eerie Tale - Theatre Style

An Eerie Tale Graphic 45
An Eerie Tale Graphic 45 - Alternative Advent Calendar
Hellooooooo there, happy Friday to you.  Its been a right scorcher and really muggy here this week  with rain and thunder storms thrown in just to confuse us lol!!   My plan was to get cracking on two new albums but I got completely distracted and have been working on this alternative advent calendar, my latest design team project for Candy Box Crafts.  I'd been browsing some theatre sets on the net for a while trying to decide how to add dimension to the centre stage using the fairy tale characters from An Eerie Tale paper collection by Graphic 45 and this is what emerged.  It took an age to put
together,  but I was really pleased with the end result, and so was Roy when I sent over the pictures :-)
There's just under two inches of depth to play with in the centre section and here's a few close up pics of how I altered it:
To make the columns I ran paper and a mask through my big shot, cut out the embossed image and mounted each one on black card for additional support.  Towers of different numbers of chipboard squares stuck to the back give them the depth
the floor is raised slightly to give more dimension to the centre space and columns and the steps are a separate piece of paper  leading up to sleeping beauty and the wicked witch.  The sweet like knobs on the drawers are made from two tiny black buttons stuck together with a 1/4" circle of paper stuck to the top, coated in glossy accents and sprinkled with glitter before the glossy accents dried.
The calendar would make a great trinket/jewellery box as well as a really unusual Christmas keepsake. If you fancy making one yourself they are available to order over in our shop
