Pretty in Pink ..........

Mon Amour Planner, Clare Charvill Graphic 45

Helllooooooo from a dull and damp UK, how are you?  While I was down in Cornwall, which seems an age ago now, we had a very late Christmas get together with friends Peggy and Sarah and swapped our Secret Santa gifts.  Peggy, is one special lady with the most fascinating life story. Back in the 1940's she, along with thousands of other children were evacuated out of the East End of London.  Peggy and her sister found themselves on a train to Cornwall, and the morning after arriving in Cadgwith Cove, truly thought they had 'died and gone to heaven' to quote her own words, as they looked out from the house at the cove and the sea (below).......  I can totally believe that.

Amazingly, Peggy lives in the house she arrived at all those years ago with her family.  I could listen to her stories for hours, love her company and wanted to make her something special ................in pink (her favourite colour) that she could enjoy during the year so decided on one of my planners.

Altered in papers from the Mon Amour collection I'd found during my Spring Clean in December (early I know) here's how it came out. ........

She loved it ..........  and said she'd had just had her mirror, (just like to the one in the picture on the back cover) re silvered.  I was sooooo pleased.  It really is lovely to give a hand made gift.  Annie had one too altered in her favourite paper from the Safari Adventure collection which she loved - I didn't take any pics of that one to share with you but before I'd left she'd written loads of to do's in it :-)
It's kit packing for me today ahead of the Newbury Papercraft Show on Saturday, at Newbury Race Course.  Do come along, call by the stand (My Creative Spirit) and say hi if you're going and maybe take part in my Make and Takes. I'd love to see you.
Enjoy your day, thanks for calling by and look forward to catching up again soon :-)

  5. Clare how thoughtful of you to make that beautiful planner for Peggy!!! I am sure she adores it especially since it came from you and secondly because you made it for her!!! She was a very lucky little girl to be evacuated out of London and ending up in Cornwall wasn't she. I wish I could sit and have tea with her and listen to all her wonderful life stories. I am sure Annie was happy with her Safari planner as well. I have to make one of those soon!!! Take care my friend.
